How to Delete Your App Download History From the Google Play Store

It's useful to have your app download history in the Play Store. But it can get very long over time, so you might want to clear it out and start again

Did you know that you can check every single app you've ever downloaded on your Android smartphone via the Google Play Store? Yes, you can.

The good thing is, you can also delete and remove some of the apps from your download history. In this article, we'll show you how to delete apps from your Google Play Store library.

How to Delete Your Google Play Store App Download History

Once you download an app from Google Play, the app store will add it to your library.

This makes it convenient to re-download apps when you buy a new device or even after factory resetting your phone. But at times, you don't want to keep some of those apps in your history as you no longer plan to use them in the future—and the list can get pretty long after a while.

Follow these steps to delete your Google Play Store app download history from your Android smartphone:

  1. Launch the Play Store app and tap on your account icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Manage apps and device from the menu.
  3. Tap the Manage tab. You'll now see all the apps that are currently on your device.
  4. Tap the Installed toggle and select Not installed from the pop-up. This shows all the apps you've previously installed but no longer use.
  5. Tap the checkbox next to an app you want to remove from the list. You can select as many as you want.
  6. Once done, tap the delete icon in the top right.
  7. Select Remove from the pop-up to finish.

The Play Store will remove all your selected apps from your download history. Remember, you can always install the removed apps again in the future.

This process is only accessible via the Play Store app at the time of writing. In other words, you can't do it via Google Play on the web.

The Play Store's app library feature can be handy, but it is not all the time you want to keep track of all the apps you ever download. Especially those that you've had a bad experience with. Fortunately, deleting old apps from your Google Play download history is a cinch.

To keep track of apps you plan to download or purchase in the future, the Play Store's Wishlist feature has your back.
