VIDEO: A Q&A With Android's Enterprise and Security Chiefs

BARCELONA—The Android umbrella continues to abound. The ubiquitous mobile operating organization lives in smartphones, wearables, cars, and IoT devices, and is as well coming to new markets through programs like Android One and Android Go.

MWC Bug ArtWithal, Google's malleable OS doesn't stop at that place. Android is also deployed widely across the business world through Android Enterprise, a framework to help brand Android more manageable and deployable at scale. At the aforementioned time, Android is dealing with an ever-evolving array of security challenges and coming up with new means to secure devices from the hardware and application levels all the way upwards to the Google Play store.

At Mobile World Congress, PCMag sat down with two execs leading Google's strategies across Android Enterprise and security: Sean Ginevan, Head of Global Strategy & Market Enablement for Android Enterprise, and Dave Kleidermacher, VP of Security for Android, Chrome Bone, and Google Play. Ginevan and Kleidermacher, who both joined Google relatively recently, talked well-nigh new programs like Android Enterprise Recommended, how the company tackles the shifting state of Android security, and how Google is building AI into everything it does, including deep within Android.
